These photos were taken by Ted, the talented photographer behind BIZPHOTOGRAPHER, based in Irvine, CA. While Ted is known for his clean, professional headshots for business executives and corporate teams, he managed to capture something even more personal for me—my essence.
These images felt true to who I am, and they played a powerful role in helping me get signed with a modeling agency. I’m so grateful for his eye, his patience, and his ability to see me beyond the lens.

What makes these photos special isn’t the styling or the makeup—because there was none. It’s me. All of me. Makeup-free. Natural hair. Authentic features. No glam, no filters—just me showing up exactly as I am.
Honestly? I was nervous about this moment. At 48, starting something new feels both exhilarating and vulnerable. But I’m learning to lean into that discomfort. To say yes to myself. And to show up even when I’m scared.

Because here’s what I know now: You don’t need to be perfect to begin. You just need to be real.
This new chapter means the world to me because it’s not just about modeling—it’s about embracing who I am, honoring my journey, and proving to myself that it’s never too late to start something new. Before I dive into my exciting modeling journey, here are 10 things you might not know about me:

- First-Generation American – My family immigrated from Cambodia, and their courage inspires me every day.
- Trailblazer in Education – I was the first in my family to attend university and earned a four-year academic leadership scholarship.
- Academic Grit – School was incredibly hard for me; I often left the testing center in tears. Yet, through perseverance, I earned a Master’s degree in Community Health Education.
- Raised by a Strong Single Mom – My mother’s resilience taught me to be independent, driven, and tenacious.
- Family is Everything – I am a proud wife of 23 years. Albert and I met through a mutual friend, got engaged after one month of dating long-distance, and have three amazing children. Parenting them together is our greatest joy.
- Loss Changed Me – I lost my only sibling, my younger brother Deboro, in 2019. Life has never been the same, and I miss him deeply every day.
- Pageant and Modeling Roots – I competed in Miss Teen Utah, made the Top 10, and won the interview category. I also modeled in high school.
- Entrepreneurial Spirit – In 2006, I started Baby Emi Jewelry to honor my Cambodian heritage and my firstborn daughter, Emi.
- Content Creator Journey – I have been creating lifestyle, beauty, and fashion content since 2016. It has helped me grow into the confident woman you see today.
- A Wake-Up Call – Losing my brother reminded me how precious life is. It pushed me to reevaluate my path and finally pursue the dreams I once shelved.
For decades, I doubted myself and played small. But today, I am living proof that courage and self-belief can change your life. I am now a professional model, represented by Models Package, and ready to explore this part of myself in a deeper, more meaningful way.
This milestone isn’t just about me—it’s about every woman who wonders if she’s “too late” to follow her dreams. I’m here to tell you: It’s never too late to start something new.
Thank you for being part of my journey. I can’t wait to share this next chapter with you!
